The 48-week PEARL randomized placebo-controlled trial found no significant effect of weekly 5 mg or 10 mg compounded rapamycin on its primary visceral-adiposity outcome; most other measures were also nonsignificant.
What this does not establish
The trial did not measure lifespan and does not establish rapamycin as a longevity treatment.
What would change the reading
Require independently funded, adequately powered trials with prespecified clinical outcomes and longer follow-up.
