Colombia's Ministry of Health reported that, less than two months after the national electronic-health-record interoperability mechanism began operation on 15 April 2026, 744 providers across 2,456 sites had exchanged more than 7.7 million digital care summaries concerning about 2.7 million patients.
What this does not establish
Exchanged summaries do not establish completeness, semantic accuracy, clinician use, patient consent quality or improved outcomes.
Counterevidence & uncertainty
Early self-reported adoption may include repeated patients and uneven provider maturity; 3,606 further sites were still testing.
What would change the reading
Track validated production sites, duplicate/error rates, patient access, security incidents, care continuity and independent audits.
