Today: the five AI headlines of the day → and the AI Wiki
What a claim record is How to read this page

One statement, bounded on purpose

The headline is a single claim that a named source supports. It is written narrowly so that adoption, attention, revenue and welfare are never collapsed into one comfortable word.

The three sections below the fold

What this does not establish is the boundary of the evidence. Counterevidence & uncertainty is what argues the other way. What would change the reading is the observation that would move it. A record missing any of the three is incomplete, not merely brief.

Primary routes are checkable

Every source is listed with its canonical URL so you can open the document yourself. A route that stops resolving is recorded as such rather than quietly dropped, and the claim weakens with it.

MWITA-SG-2026-014 · Evidence A · P1

In a Chinese randomized trial of adolescents with excess body weight, an eight-week supervised adaptive-VR sports program reduced fat mass by 4.28 kg versus control (95% CI 2.22 to 6.35 kg reduction), while supervised physical sports reduced it by 5.06 kg versus control (95% CI 2.98 to 7.13 kg reduction); the two active interventions did not differ significantly.

What this does not establish

This is not evidence that unsupervised consumer VR, ordinary gameplay or AI alone produces weight loss or durable population effects.

Counterevidence & uncertainty

Intensive coaching, school context, selected adolescents and concurrent nutrition support constrain transportability.

What would change the reading

Update with multisite pragmatic trials, longer follow-up, adherence outside supervision and cost-effectiveness.
