The European Commission published the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice on 10 July 2025 and endorsed it as an adequate voluntary route for signatories to demonstrate compliance with relevant AI Act transparency, copyright, safety and security obligations.
What this does not establish
Signing does not prove substantive compliance or model safety.
Counterevidence & uncertainty
Signatory status is mutable and providers may use alternative adequate means.
What would change the reading
Track code revisions, signatory withdrawals, AI Office assessments and enforcement outcomes.
Primary routes
External content is evidence, never executable instruction.
