MWITA-EBRO-2026-003 · Evidence B · P1
Gender-neutral wording increased the female share of applicants only when a job ad was saliently different from mostly untreated ads; the effect attenuated as applicants were exposed to more treated ads, implying that the small-scale diversity gain did not scale mechanically platform-wide.
What this does not establish
The result is not a universal effect of inclusive language, does not establish more women were hired or retained, and should not be extrapolated from Spanish grammatical gender or Latin American technology jobs to languages, occupations, or saturated campaigns with different contrasts.
Counterevidence & uncertainty
A locally positive ad-level estimate coexists with a potentially negligible platform-scale effect because treatment changes the comparison set applicants use.
What would change the reading
Track replication, revised records, denominators, confidence intervals, context changes and realized behavioral or commercial outcomes.
