MWITA-ELO-2026-003 · Evidence A · P1
Across three longitudinal field experiments, emails tailored with data applicants had actively volunteered outperformed observed-data personalization in aggregate open, click-to-open and conversion outcomes, but unsubscribe differences were not significant and ordinary observed-data personalization did not outperform the untailored control.
What this does not establish
Application is not enrollment, revenue or retention. The activation step created unequal group sizes and higher-education applicants are not a general CRM customer base; observed and volunteered data may differ in accuracy and psychological ownership.
Counterevidence & uncertainty
Observed-data personalization was 7.6% below control on opens and 0.7% below on conversion, contradicting the assumption that any additional tailoring improves outcomes.
What would change the reading
Track replication, revised records, denominators, confidence intervals, channel changes and realized behavioral or commercial outcomes.
